No, that doesn’t go there

Parenting.Is.Hard. I am barely making it through with a little grace and a lot of humor. But I have found myself saying the same words over and over again. No, that doesn’t go there.

I had no clue how many times a day I’d be saying those words. I bet I say it at least 5 times a day. I’m not completely sure what my 5-year-old was thinking when he started putting a lego up his nose. But I am thrilled I caught him in the act, that was bound to be an ER visit.

Kids love to test limits, try new things out, and as I have found, put things where they don’t belong. I have watched as my son walked down our basement stairs, holding a chef’s knife, smiling with pride. My daughter ran away from husband in a department store, hid in a rack of clothes and wasn’t found for what felt like hours, but I am sure was only minutes. She thought they were playing hide and go seek.

These kids are crazy and I love every second with them. Even when I have said, “No, no, no, that doesn’t go in there…” for the hundredth time that day.
